Classic Blackjack Offers Amazing Payouts

June 2, 2023

If you're the type of player who likes games with a high degree of strategy, then you're probably a fan of blackjack. One of the problems with online blackjack games is that the titles that offer the best potential payout rates also have the most difficult rules and strategies to learn. One exception to this pattern is the Classic Blackjack game in the downloadable software at Microgaming-powered online casinos. Note that the Classic Blackjack game in the instant play software is not the same thing and uses different rules. You can achieve a whooping payout of over 99.9 percent with correct play in this single-deck game with simplified rules.

A good place to start is the hard hands. With weak dealer cards (six and lower) and hard hands 12 and up, you're always going to stand unless you have a 12 facing a two or three. Those are the only two exceptions to this rule, so there's not a lot to remember. Hard hands 12 and above facing strong dealer cards (seven and up, including aces) will always hit, so there's no confusion or complication. With hard hands 11 and lower, you'll always hit except when you double. You can double nines against weak dealer cards, and you can also double tens and 11s against dealer cards of nine and below.

That simple amount of strategy covers all normal soft and hard hands, and that should just go to show you how straight-forward this game can be. Paired hands are a little more difficult, however. You'll always split aces, and you'll always stand on tens. You'll split nines unless you're facing a seven, ten or ace in which case you'll stand (as usual). There's a rule in blackjack that you always split aces, but in this game, you'll hit them if you're facing a ten or ace because this game uses the European hole card rule that makes splitting against tens and aces unprofitable in most cases unless you have aces.

The rest of the paired hands use pretty standard strategies. An interesting point of contention, however, is made with paired sevens. You'll split if you're facing a seven or lower, and you'll stand if you're facing a ten. However, against an eight, nine or ace, you'll hit. This is probably the most difficult part of the correct strategy in this game to remember since it's so atypical.
